STIHL 2-MIX® Engine

With the STIHL 2-Mix engine, you reduce emissions and consumption, thus lowering operating costs. This 2-stroke engine is low-maintenance and uses fuel efficiently even at high power output. The fuel used is a mixture of petrol and engine oil. The STIHL 2-Mix engine meets the stringent EU Stage V emission directive.

Long-Life Air Filter

Thanks to its long service life, you don't need to change the filter as often. This saves resources and reduces maintenance requirements.

Large Fuel Tank

The transparent fuel tank holds a full 0.75 l (FS 240 - 460) or 0.99 l (FS 490/560), allowing for long work sessions without disruptive refueling stops. The fuel level is easy to check since the tank is transparent, which also eliminates unnecessary stops. Refueling is also easy thanks to the generously sized opening.

Winter Mode

Very simple system that allows the machine to be quickly switched between summer and winter mode. During the cold season, this prevents icing of the carburetor and air filter.

Manual Fuel Pump

The manual fuel pump reduces the number of starting pulls and thus speeds up the starting process. This is particularly helpful if the machine hasn't been used for a while. Therefore, activate the pump several times before starting. This ensures there is enough petrol in the carburetor when starting.

Compensator

The compensator, a control system in the carburetor, uses pressure equalization to ensure that engine power, exhaust quality, and fuel consumption remain almost constant over a long period, even as the air filter becomes clogged. Therefore, only clean the air filter when you notice reduced performance. This allows you to work maintenance-free for a long time.

Tool-Free Handle Adjustment

With the central clamp, you can individually adjust the ergonomic two-hand handlebar (bike handle). Thanks to the tool-free handle adjustment, no aids are needed. For transport and space-saving storage, the handlebar can be rotated 90 degrees.

STIHL Anti-Vibration System

When power is generated by the machine, vibrations are produced, mainly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements in the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transfer of engine vibrations to the grip area, and thus to your body. This means: The machine sits more steadily in your hand and you can work significantly longer without getting tired.

Handlebar

A handlebar facilitates work and improves ergonomics, making it the natural first choice when working over larger areas. With a handlebar, you can work calmly and methodically in large sweeping movements from side to side. The handlebar can also be adjusted to your needs.

Single-Handed Multifunction Handle

The multifunction handle with single-handed grip allows you to easily and reliably control the machine with one hand. With all important controls integrated, the handle is suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
